Validate an inbound change set

Validation lets you check in advance whether a change set can be deployed without writing to the target environment configuration.

WARNING

Validation items, error classification, and log fields require manual review.

Before you begin

  • The current environment has received an inbound change set.
  • You have permission to validate change sets.
  • Confirm that no other high-risk configuration changes are in progress.

Step 1: Open the inbound change set

  1. In the admin backend, go to Environment Management > Inbound Change Sets.
  2. In the list, click the target change set name.

Step 2: Check the component list

  1. On the detail page, open the Components tab.
  2. View the component type and component name.
  3. Confirm that the component scope matches the release plan.

Step 3: Run the validation

  1. On the change set detail page, click Validate.
  2. In the confirmation dialog, click OK.
  3. Wait for the validation to complete.

Validation verifies whether all components in the inbound change set can be deployed successfully in the current environment. After validation, the system updates the inbound change set status and adds a validation history record.

Step 4: View the validation result

  1. On the detail page, open the History tab.
  2. Find the latest validation record.
  3. Click the record to view the execution result.

Expected results and validation

After a successful validation, the change set can move to deployment preparation. If validation fails, the system shows the failure reason or error details.

Validation only performs a pre-deployment check and does not actually deploy the change set components.
